Some sources say L-13 sank the Japanese merchant Daito Maru No.49 (234 GRT) off Abashiri, Hokkaido, Japan in position 44°05'N, 144°28'E.

Other sources state L-13 never went on an active war patrol and could not have sunk the Japanese ship.
