While operating off the west coast of Hokkaido, Japan, L-12 torpedoed and sank the Japanese cable layer Ogasawara Maru (1403 GRT) in position 43°50'N, 141°13'E, torpedoed and damaged the Japanese auxiliary vessel Shinko Maru No.2 (2577 GRT) in position 44°15'N, 141°26'E and finally sank the Japanese merchant Taito Maru (887 GRT) in position 44°04'N, 141°27'E.
