History | Initially comissioned to the Baltic Fleet. Transferred to the North Fleet by river channels (Belomoro-Baltiyski channel) in May-August 1933 and joined the North Fleet on 5 August 1933. Modernized during 1936-37. Made 3 patrols during the Soviet-Finnish war (no successes). Lost during a training dive in Motovsky bay on 13 November 1940 with all hands. Possibly exceeded crush depth, but exact reason still not known. |
