History | At 1705 hours on 9 May 1945 HMS Prompt (T/A/Lt.Cdr. R.K. Hart, RANVR) was mined 12 nautical miles north-west off Ostend, Belgium. She was towed to Southend and declared a constructive total loss, not being worth repairing. HMS Prompt is not listed as active unit in the October 1945 Navy List Sold to be broken up for scrap on 16 January 1947. |
