HMS Sanguine (T/Lt. P.C.S. Pritchard, RNR) departed her builders yard for Holy Loch. She was escorted by HMS Bridgewater (Cdr.(Retd.) M.W. Ewart-Wentworth, RN). (1)

12 May 1945
HMS Sanguine (T/Lt. P.C.S. Pritchard, RNR) arrived at Holy Loch to begin a period of trials and training. (1)

28 Jun 1945
HMS Sea Devil (Lt. D.W. Mills, DSC, RN) conducted attack exercises during which HMS Sanguine (T/Lt. P.C.S. Pritchard, RNR), HMS Icarus (Cdr.(Retd.) M.W. Ewart-Wentworth, RN) and HMS Hastings (A/Cdr. E.A. Stocker, DSC, RN) served as the targets. These also included night attacks. (2)

5 Aug 1945
HMS Sanguine (T/Lt. P.C.S. Pritchard, RNR) departed Holy Loch for passage to Gibraltar. This was the first leg of the trip to the Far East.

11 Aug 1945
HMS Sanguine (T/Lt. P.C.S. Pritchard, RNR) departed Gibraltar for Malta. (3)

15 Aug 1945
HMS Sanguine (T/Lt. P.C.S. Pritchard, RNR) arrived at Malta.

With the war with Japan now over there was no employment for her in the Far East so Sanguine was ordered to return to the U.K. She arrived at Rothesay on 15 September 1945. (4)
