USS Spot (Cdr. W.S. Post, Jr.) departed from Pearl Harbor for her 1st war patrol. She was ordered to patrol in the East China and Yellow Seas.

15 Dec 1944
USS Spot (Cdr. W.S. Post, Jr.) arrived at Saipan. She departed from this base for her patrol area two day later.

USS Spot (Cdr. W.S. Post, Jr.) sank the Japanese merchant fishing vessel Tokiwa Maru (221 GRT) with gunfire in the Yellow Sea in position 34°45'N, 124°10'E.

30 Jan 1945
USS Spot (Cdr. W.S. Post, Jr.) ended her 1st war patrol at Midway.

24 Feb 1945
USS Spot (Cdr. W.S. Post, Jr.) departed from Midway for her 2nd war patrol. She was ordered to patrol in the East China Sea.

17 Mar 1945
USS Spot (Cdr. W.S. Post, Jr.) torpedoed and sank the Japanese army cargo ship Nanking Maru (3005 GRT) off Yushiyama Island in position 25°28'N, 120°10'E, and torpedoed and damaged the Japanese merchant cargo ship Ikomasan Maru (3173 GRT) which is beached off Matsu Island in position 26°07'N, 119°57'E. The Ikomasan Maru is finally destroyed by USAAF bombers on 26 March 1945.

23 Mar 1945
USS Spot (Cdr. William Schuyler Post, Jr.) arrived at Saipan to take on stores and provisions, and then resumes her 2nd war patrol on the 27th.

4 May 1945
USS Spot (Cdr. W.S. Post, Jr.) ended her 2nd war patrol at Saipan.

2 Jun 1945
USS Spot (Lt.Cdr. Jack Murray Seymour) departed from Saipan for her 3rd war patrol, and was ordered to patrol in the East China and Yellow Seas.
