While en route from Halifax, Canada to Plymouth, UK via the Azores, HMCS Mulgrave (T/Lt. R.M. Meredith, RCNR) was grounded at the Azores while entering Horta harbour. After being towed to Ardrossan, Scotland for repairs Mulgrave finally arrived at Plymouth on 24 April.
