HMCS Mahone (Lt. W. Turner, RCNR) commenced a refit at Liverpool, Nova Scotia, Canada.
29 Jan 1944
HMCS Mahone (Lt. W. Turner, RCNR) was damaged in a collision with the merchant Fort Townshend off Louisbourg, Nova Scotia, Canada. After repairs, trials and workup Mahone returned to service in August.
25 Jul 1944
HMS L 27 (Lt. J.N. Elliott, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Bermuda with HMCS Mahone (T/Lt. L.R. Hoar, RCNVR), HMCS Border Cities (Lt. B.P. Young, RCNR) and HMS Foam (Lt. W.J.H. Moorman, DSC, RN). (1)
