Around 1100Q/13, the escort carrier HMS Battler (A/Capt. H. Norman, RN) departed Norfolk, Virginia for New York. She was escorted by USS Moberly (?). (2)

14 Feb 1945
Around 1230Q/14, HMS Battler (A/Capt. H. Norman, RN) and USS Moberly (?) arrived at New York from Norfolk. (2)

6 May 1945
German U-boat U-853 was sunk in the North Atlantic south-east of New London, in position 41°13'N, 71°27'W, by depth charges from the US destroyer escort USS Atherton and the US patrol frigate USS Moberly.
