German U-boat U-128 was sunk in the South Atlantic south of Pernambuco, in approximate position 10°00'S, 35°35'W, by gunfire from the US destroyers USS Moffett and USS Jouett, and depth charges from two Mariner aircraft (Sqdn VP-74/P-6/P-5).
