Notable events involving LCT 513 include:
1 Nov 1944
Took part in Operation Infatuate II (the landing at Westkapelle, Netherlands) as Loading Table Index Number (LTIN) 7 carrying assault team Damson (3 Sherman Crabs and 2 Churchill AVREs) and commandos.
Suffered damage from fire from shore battery: holes in the hull, compass and bow ramp out of action, and electricity mostly out. One rating was killed, three ratings and three commandos wounded, the bridge from one of the AVREs was destroyed, trapping a Crab, and the fascine (bundle of brushwood) of the other AVRE was on fire.
Wounded were transferred to a hospital vessel and 513 returned to Ostend without having landed. (1)
