Corbesier entered the Pacific through the Panama Canal on this date and arrived at Pearl Harbor on 26 June.
24 Aug 1944
Corbesier escorted the U.S. Army ship Restorer to Midway Island, later she circled Restorer while she repaired the Trans-Pacific Phone Cable between Guam and the States. After the repairs were completed Corbesier escorted Restorer to Saipan where they arrived on 1 October 1944.

Corbesier shot down a Japanese plane in Leyte Gulf on this date.

Corbesier was involved in the sinking of the Japanese submarine I-48 off Yap.
27 Jul 1945
While off Okinawa USS Corbesier was attacked by a Japanese torpedo plane during on the night of 27 July 1945. The torpedo missed its target and the plane crashed on Okinawa.
