USS Holder (Lt.Cdr. Winthrop P. Buck, USNR) was irreparably damaged by German torpedo aircraft about 35 nautical miles north-east of Algiers, Algeria in position 37º03'N, 03º58'E. 17 of the crew were killed and 12 wounded
Stricken 23 September 1944.
Parts used to repair USS Menges (DE 320).
Hulk sold on 20 June 1947 and broken up for scrap.
