HMS H 33 (Lt. D.G. Kent, RN) conducted A/S exercises off Lough Foyle with HMS Towy (Cdr. M.J Evans, OBE, RN), HMS Scarborough (Lt.Cdr. E.B. Carnduff, RN), USS Bull, USS Schmitt and USS Frament. (1)

15 Nov 1944
at 0223 hours the Italian submarine Luigi Settembrini was mistakenly rammed and sunk about 685 miles west of Gibraltar in position 36°11'N, 19°45'W by the US destroyer escort USS Frament.

Note: Italy had joined the Allies on 13 October 1943.
