History

Converted to High Speed Transport and reclassified as APD- 47 on 31 July 1944.
Sunk by Japanese kamikaze aircraft west of Okinawa in position 26º41'N, 127º47'E. 23 of the crew were killed and 37 wounded which includes the Commanding officer Lcmdr Henry Augustus Wilmerding,USNR and his Executive officer Lcmdr Horace Greenough Powell, USNR;there are 177 survivors in all rescued by the USS Fleming, Gosselin, PC-877 and the USS Reynolds.
