History | Completed as cargo ship Clan Lamont on in June 1939. Requisitioned by the Admiralty in 1944 to be converted to a LSI(L). Conversion was completed around mid 1944. Displacement: 7250 tons. Lenght: 488 feet Complement: 300 Machinery: 5 Boilers, 2 shafts, reciprocating engine, IHP 8300 = 17 knots. Armament: 1 4" gun, 1 12pdr AA, 1 40mm AA, 10 20mm AA (10x1) Carried 2 LCP(S)'s, 10 LCA's and 800 troops Reverted to merchantile Clan Lamont in 1945/1946. |
