History | Completed in June 1936. HMS Thorbryn (Lt.Cdr.(retired) John Francis Hall, RNR) was sunk by German aircraft east of Tobruk in position 32º04'N, 24º09'E. At 0630 hrs of 19 August, while sailing east of Tobruk escorting LCT.12, she was attacked by 8 Ju-87 Stuka belonging to the Fliegerführer Afrika, sustaining a number of direct hits and sinking. |
