This vessel landed English troops and equipment on Juno Beach, subsequently making over 50 channel crossings carrying troops, equipment and ammunition to various locations supporting the Normandy invasion. German prisoners were loaded at Guernsey and Alderney and returned to England after the German surrender. Some 600 Dutch Marines were passengers upon the ship's return to the U.S. The Ship was in Orange, Texas, being fitted with distillation equipment for service in the Pacific when the Japanese surrendered.
