Notes on event | At 23.14 hours on 1 April 1942 the unescorted Loch Don (Master Malcolm Wright Anderson) was torpedoed and sunk by U-202 about 500 miles north-northeast of Bermuda. Three crew members were lost. The master, 37 crew members and six gunners were picked up by the Helen Forsey and landed at Burin, Newfoundland. | ||
