Notes on event | At 13.37 hours on 26 September 1940 the unescorted Darcoila (Master William Anderson), dispersed the day before from convoy OB-217, was hit on port side amidships by one G7e torpedo fired from the stern torpedo tube of U-32 about 600 miles west of Ireland. The ship sank within 5 minutes by the stern after a boiler explosion. The master, 35 crew members and one gunner were lost. | ||
