Notes on event | At 05.15 hours on 7 Sep 1940 the José de Larrinaga (Master Arthur Townshend Gass) in convoy SC-2 was hit by a stern torpedo from U-47 northwest of Rockall. The ship broke in two and sank after eleven minutes. The master, 38 crew members and one gunner were lost. | ||
