Notes on event | At 10.30 hours on 25 June 1943 the Nisr (approx. 50 tons) was sunk by U-81 with 12 rounds from the deck gun about 40 miles northwest of Gaza. The vessel had been stopped by a shot across the bow and the crew abandoned ship. The survivors made landfall the next day. |
