| Notes on event | On 2 December 1944 the Revoljucija left Kola Bay forming together with the Soviet steam merchant Kama convoy KB-35, which was escorted by the Soviet patrol ship SKR-20 and the Soviet minesweeper T-884 (No 38). Near the Litskie Islands the ship developed engine problems and had to stop. The other steamer continued to Archangelsk together with the patrol ship while the minesweeper stayed at the scene. At 01.00 hours on 3 December 1944, U-1163 fired one torpedo at two ships that were reported as patrol vessels but missed. Four minutes later, a second torpedo was fired which struck the Revoljucija after a running time of 60 seconds. The ship sank 20 seconds after being hit with all hands. | ||
