Notes on event | At 03.05 hours on 2 June 1940 the unescorted Polycarp (Master Alexander Allan) was hit by one torpedo from U-101 and sank 41 miles south of Lands End. The master and 42 crew members were picked up by the French merchant Espiguette and landed at Newlyn. | ||
