History Launched in February 1944, commissioned as MO-376 Buzulukskiy Komsomolets on 7 April 1944 and assigned as SKA-0376 to the Black Sea Fleet on 7 May 1944. 
Notes on event

At 23.23 hours on 12 May 1944, U-24 fired a torpedo at two escorts about 15 miles southwest of Poti, observed a hit amidships after 67 seconds and heard how five depth charges detonated when the vessel sank. The vessel hit was the only recently commissioned SKA-0376 (SLt Viktor Shpon’ko), which exploded and sank immediately after being torpedoed.
