| History | Completed as steam trawler RT-76 Astrakhan for Sevgosrybtrest NKRP, Murmansk. On 13 Nov 1941, the ship was requisitioned by the Soviet Navy, converted to the M/S trawler T-911 (No 65), armed with two 45mm guns and two machine guns and assigned to the White Sea Flotilla on 26 November. | ||
| Notes on event | At 15.48 hours on 30 July 1943, U-703 fired a torpedo at T-911 (No 65) off Novaya Zemlya and scored a hit after 90 seconds. The minesweeper was escorting convoy BA-12 when a U-boat was sighted and the ships continued on a zigzag course at higher speed. She could not keep up, was hit aft on the starboard side and sank by the stern within 50 seconds. 14 survivors were rescued after about 15 minutes by the Soviet minesweeper T-901 (No 55). | ||
