Notes on event | On 25 April 1943 the Rouennais in convoy CG-29 struck a mine laid on 2 April by U-455 and sank about 17 miles north of Casablanca. Three survivors were rescued by the British steam merchant Storaa from the same convoy and taken to Gibraltar. The remaining 36 survivors and one body were picked up by the escort USS PC-482 and landed in Casablanca. | ||
