Notes on event | At 00.33 hours on 11 Jan 1943 the Ocean Vagabond (Master John William Smith), a straggler from convoy SC-115, was torpedoed by U-186 south of Iceland and sank at 03.07 hours, following two coups de grâce at 00.59 and 01.45 hours. One crew member was lost. The master, 41 crew members and four gunners were picked up by HMS Wanderer (D 74) (LtCdr D.H.P. Gardiner) and landed at Liverpool. | ||
