Notes on event | At 17.43 and 17.44 hours on 2 Nov 1942, U-522 fired one torpedo at convoy SC-107 and observed after 3 minutes 25 seconds one hit on a steamer, which settled slowly and heard another detonation after 3 minutes 36 seconds. Schneider reported the sinking of two steamers, but apparently Parthenon was hit by both torpedoes. The Parthenon had already been hit by a dud torpedo, when U-442 (Hesse) fired a spread of two torpedoes on convoy at 08.47 hours on 2 November in grid AJ 8626. | ||
