Notes on event | At 07.53 hours on 21 May 1942 the unescorted Torondoc (Master François Xavier Daneau) was hit amidships by one torpedo from U-69 and sank about 60 miles northwest of Martinique. The Germans questioned the survivors on four lifeboats and two rafts, but the master and 21 crew members were never seen again. | ||
