History | Completed in May 1937 as steam trawler Loch Doon for Loch Fishing Co of Hull Ltd (Harry Wight Ltd), Hull. On 27 August 1939 requisitioned by the Royal Navy and converted to the minesweeping trawler HMS Loch Doon (FY 127). | ||
Notes on event | On 25 December 1939 the HMS Loch Doon (FY 127) (Skipper G.H.A. Thompson, RNR) struck a mine laid on 20 December by U-22 east of Blyth and sank with all hands. The commander and 15 crew members were lost. | ||
