Robert Burnside Wilkins and five other survivors from HMCS Regina were rescued by an American boat and were taken to a different hospital than those picked up by the British ships. He and the other five were declared missing, lost at sea. His wife was informed he was lost, but the error was recognized and of course great joy ensued.
