Personal information
Son of Harry E. and Ada Elizabeth Postill, of Markington, Yorkshire. Harry William Postill joined the Royal Navy on 22 September 1920 and served aboard HMS Calcutta in 1921. He also served aboard HMS Barham from 1925 to 1928 and 1935 to 1938. On 28 April 1939 he joined HMS Ark Royal and survived her sinking in November 1941. Harry continued to serve in the Mediterranean aboard HMS Exmoor, but died of Pneumonia in a hospital in Egypt on 2 September 1944.
