Personal information
Son of James and Susan Barr, of Gillingham, Kent. Kenneth Schollar Barr served in the Merchant Navy as Purser and Writer with White Star Line before the war. As part of the RNR he joined HMS Laurentic on 16 September 1939. Kenneth was one of the survivors picked up by HMS Patroclus and one of the lucky ones to be rescued from the water for a second time in a single night by HMS Achates.
