Personal information
William James Chapman enlisted in the Royal Navy on 12 July 1940. He was on watch at the stern gun of Achilles and seriously injured when blown overboard by the torpedo explosion. William was admitted to the Colonial Hospital at San Fernando, Trinidad and eventually repatriated to the UK in June 1943.
