Personal information
Frederick George Jennings joined the Merchant Navy as boy seaman on 12 May 1934 and Samaria was his first ship. On 25 June 1941 he joined the Nailsea Meadow and served as able seaman, but was also trained to operate a gun. He survived the sinking and continued to serve in the Merchant Navy until being discharged on 5 April 1946.
