Personal information
Chief engineer I.C. Bingham was the sole survivor from the Cordelia when she was sunk by U-632 on 3 Feb, 1943. He was taken prisoner by the U-boat and mentioned carelessly that another convoy was coming after the one his ship was in (HX-224). Convoy SC-118 was then attacked and 9 ships were sunk. He was then landed at Brest, France on 14 February and was taken to the German POW camp Milag Nord.
