Personal information
Charles Taggart Howland survived the sinking of Alice F. Palmer in the lifeboat that made landfall on 26 July 1943 and later graduated from US Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, NY. He was always very proud of the time he spent in the Merchant Marine.
