Personal information
Arthur Vernon Huntley, Jr., told his family many stories of his life, the most memorable and remarkable was not about his actual service during the war, but his contributions later in life as well as a remarkable friendship he developed after the war. With his family he lived in El Cajon, CA and every year during the winter Arthur had a house guest he put up in a semi permanent RV trailer in his backyard. The guest was no other than Paul Just, the former commander of U-546, the same U-boat that had sunk USS Frederick C. Davis.
Arthur later worked at the Naval Electronics Laboratory Center (NELC) on Point Loma in San Diego, CA from the 1950's to the 1980's and helped to improve the Sonar technology.
