Personal information
Columbo Riani was an Italian immigrant who had settled with his wife and four children in County Durham. He was interned after the outbreak of war and was deported to Australia aboard the Dunera after surviving the sinking of Arandora Star. He was one of 42 of the 43 internees returning to the UK aboard Abosso who were lost.
