Personal information
Alexander Bryant Nash was born in Brightlingsea, but his family moved to Larne, Co. Antrim in 1910 as his father Alexander John Nash was promoted as a Customs Officer to Larne Harbour. On 3 Sep, 1940, he joined the Scottish Maiden, survived her sinking in November 1940. Alexander continued to work at sea all of his life, ending his career on the Southern Cross. He remained a bachelor all of his life and died of tuberculosis in April 1968.
