Husband of Mary J. McKellar, of Seattle, WA. Robert M. McKellar was the Engineering Officer aboard USS YP-389 when she was sunk by U-701 in June 1942. He later served as Lieutenant aboard USS Baya (SS 318) in the Pacific and became Lieutenant Commander after the war. Participated in the Korean War (1952-54) as XO aboard USS Trathen (DD 530), was later promoted to Commander and received command of his own destroyer.
