Personal information
Lachlan Bradley was picked up by the rescue ship Zamalek after the sinking of Ocean Voice, which he had joined in March 1942. In his old age he learned that the commander and crew of U-435 had all been killed by a British aircraft in July 1943, was moved to tears for the loss of the men he only ever saw as fellow seamen.
