Personal information
Warren J. Gann had experienced the attack on Pearl Harbor while serving aboard USS San Francisco (CA 38) and was later assigned to USS Edward Rutledge (AP 52), but transferred to USS Hugh L. Scott after being told that this ship needed a watertender. He survived the sinking and later participated in the Battle of Leyte Gulf aboard USS White Plains (CVE 66).
He is buried at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Saint Louis, Missouri.
