Personal information
Son of Robert Anderson Cook and Margaret MacIntosh Seabury; husband of Elizabeth L. Cook, of Summit, NJ. Seabury Cook joined the US Navy on 30 June 1913, graduated from the US Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD in 1917 and continued to served in the US Navy until his retirement as Lieutenant Commander on 30 June 1939. He was one of the survivors from Alaskan who made landfall after 39 days in a lifeboat at Cayenne, French Guiana.
His son Ensign Robert Seabury Cook was killed in the take off crash of TBM-1C Avenger (BuNo 25468) of Squadron VC-69 (attached to USS Wake Island) at San Jose, Costa Rica on 19 January 1944.
