Personal information
Chief Officer from the Dutch motor tanker Oscilla which had been sunk by the Italian submarine Morosoni (Fraternale) on 16 March 1942. He was on passage to the UK aboard Leto and rescued himself onto a piece of wooden debris after the sinking, but died of hypothermia. His body was recovered by Titus and buried at Ste. Anne de Point au Père, Quebec, Canada.
