Personal information
Son of Walter and Adaline Sime Thomson Johnstone, of Bootle, Lancashire; brother of Helen Johnstone, of Liverpool. Also served in the First World War. He survived the sinking of Empire Endurance, but died of exposure in the lifeboat in charge of the master.
