Personal information
U-126 picked up some men after sinking Kahuku and placed them on rafts, but Archie Gibbs of Cincinnati OH was kept aboard for four days, until he was placed on board the small Venezuelan vessel Minataora about 45 miles off CuraƧao and landed there.
Archie Gibbs later wrote the book U-Boat Prisoner - The Life Story of a Texas Sailor about his wartime experiences.
