The chief engineer Gerrit Baas from El Lago was taken to a hospital in Bordeaux suffering from severe burns, where he remained until 20 December 1942 and was then taken to the POW camp Marlag und Milag Nord. He was repatriated from Rotterdam on 29 August 1945 aboard the steam merchant Morgantown Victory arriving in New York on 7 September.Do you have additional information on this person?
