Personal information
Son of James Darling and Frances Rovina Watler; husband of Winnie Pearl Watler, of Port Arthur, TX. William Wade Watler became a seaman in the Merchant Marine, serving on several vessels and eventually settling in Port Arthur, Texas while working for the Texas Company. He was killed on watch on the bridge of Oregon during the initial shelling of the tanker by U-156.
